    Maj-R Thrift

So I am finally moving out of my current apartment into a new one. My new apartment is not furnished, so I had to buy a bunch of furniture. I am still looking for a couple of dressers and one of my friends told me that I should go to the thrift store because they usually have good things for cheap. So I went on the fourth of July and they were having a huge 50% off sale. I found two dressers that I wanted, but someone had already beat me to one of them. I purchased the other one and hoped that I could somehow still get the other dresser because they match. The sign posted in the thrift store said that furniture purchases have to be picked up within 48 hours. The other dresser that I wanted was also brought on the 4th of July. I went back to the store today and the dresser was still there. I asked one of the employees if I could purchase it, and she said that it was already sold. I informed her that it was sold more than 48 hours before and already should have been picked up. I told her since it was past the 48 hours that the sign stated I would like to purchase. She still stated that I could not purchase the dresser. What do you guys think? Should I be able to purchase the dresser? Why would they have that policy posted all around the store if that is not the policy they honored?

    Curfews in the Relationship

I was listening to the Michael Baisden show yesterday and he had a very interesting topic about adults having curfews in relationships. I personally thought the idea was ridiculous, but obviously not because people were calling in talking about they set a curfew in their relationship. I think the deeper issue is trust. If you don't trust the person you are in a relationship with, then why are you in the relationship with them? I know there is the saying "Ain't nothing open after midnight, but legs and liquor stores." I think that statement is true to a certain extent. A lot of the clubs don't close until at least 3am where I live. Some people go and get something to eat after they have been to the club. I think you have to trust the person that you are in a relationship with. If you don't trust that person, then you shouldn't be in a relationship with them. Besides that is the fact that they are coming home to you anyway.

What do you guys think? Should couples have curfews within the relationship? Why or why not?

  • Exercise and Hair

I was listening to the Michael Baisden show yesterday and they were talking about how some black women don't want to work out because it will mess up their hair. I recently started the Curves workout program. Even though I only have to work out for 30 minutes, I do a lot and break a sweat. I haven't had my hair done since I started working out, but when I do get my hair done I think I will wrap it back up so it doesn't get messed up. I think that is an easy solution to a not so big problem. Do you guys know anyone who doens't work out just because they don't want to mess up their hair?

  • Roommate

I live in a student apartment complex. I live in a four bedroom apartmemt, but before Monday I didn't have any roommates. So Monday evening I was sitting on my couch and someone knocked on my door. I answered the door and there was this lady standing there with suitcases. I asked her what I could do for her and she just started moving her stuff into my apartment. I was like what are you doing. She told me that she lived there, and I told her that she didn't. I called down to my leasing office  and asked the guy if I was getting a new roommate. He proceeded to tell me that he didn't know so I told him that he needed to find out because there was a lady trying to move into my apartment. He finally told me that I was getting a new roommate, and I asked him why nobody called to tell me. Once again, he answered that he didn't know. So the next day I went down to the leasing office and cussed the people out because they invaded my privacy and just moved someone into my apartment without notifying me. I was pissed about this whole situation for about three days.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

    Internet Love

I think finding love on the internet is a common thing that people do in society these days. I really don't have a problem with meeting people on the internet, but if I want to meet someone than I usually talk to them for a while. So right now I have this guy that I am really into and we have been talking for over a year. We have decided that I am going to see him in November and I am super excited!!! I am a little nervous, but I think that everything will be okay. I have never felt a connection this deep with anyone. We have been talking for over a year and the feelings are mutual between us. We didn't even meet on a website like eharmony or match.com or anything like that. We met on a social networking site, and we just made a connection and we have been talking pretty much every night since then. I am so ready to actually meet in person. We have talked on the internet and we have talked on the phone, but I am just ready to see him in person. So what do you guys think about internet dating? Have you done some internet dating yourself? Did you use sites like eharmony or match.com?
